Eye Exams

Eye examinations should be a regular part of everyone's healthcare routine. You only have one set of eyes, so let's do what we can to keep them healthy! During an eye examination, the optometrist will give you a new prescription so you can keep your eyewear updated. The optometrist will look for any signs or symptoms of eye conditions that, when left untreated, could lead to serious health or vision problems in the future. He will also assess the overall health and function of your eyes.

Did you know that eye exams can be done for children as young as 6 months old? This is a great age to bring your infant in to see us and make sure that he or she will continue to see the world as it should be as they grow up! Children and teens should be in to see an optometrist regularly at least once a year. Imperfect vision or an eye condition can go unnoticed and get in the way of learning. Don't wait for your child to tell you that something might be wrong! At Fairfield Eyecare, we are pleased to offer free eye examinations (with current BC CareCard) for children and teenagers aged 18 and under!

Adults should see an optometrist every 2 years to keep their prescription current and to stay on top of any possible eye conditions that can occur.

Seniors should come in every year to make sure their eyes are in the best health possible.

Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, and in this case, different medical conditions or doctor's referrals may lead you to see us earlier or more often than recommended. We will be happy to help you!
